This was a fantastic little find in Lakewood. Very close to red rocks with lots to do and eat around. Our host was fantastic, gave us great food recommendations and provided items to tail gate before our concert at Red Rocks. Very cozy.

Great meeting you guys. I'm very glad you had a great time. Come back anytime. Best wishes for a great holiday season.
I didn't realize the owner of the property would be in the lower level. That a separate private entrance that went through the garage and was blocked off. At first I thought it was different and after the fact I wouldn't have it any other way. Maybe at a different location but in this particular location Darrin and Leialla were the best host I could ask for. They are genuine good people. They left us on our own, but they were willing to help on a whim, like when I randomly bought flowers for my wife on our first morning. I needed a case and Leialla produced several options.
I had breakout back with Darrin ams we hit it off and spent 3hrs talking.
When we got home from Red Rocks and everyone went to bed, Leialla joined me on the back patio and talked for hours.
I can't say enough good things about them
The coffee, fresh baked cookies, snacks and freshly bottled milk (old school - glass bottle) were a nice touch. He k, even the discount card for the grocery store and the maps.
They had it all set up. It was professional and above and beyond on all fronts.
Love you guys!!!!
DJ.. You have a great family and we are so grateful that we met you. Thank you so much for choosing my place for your stay and hope
to see you again.
Rented this house for a family gathering to go to a concert at Red Rocks. Perfect location, quick drive to venue and very close to grocery stores, gas stations, and restaurants. The house was clean and cozy. The host thought of everything. If we needed anything at all, we knew we would find it! Great backyard area for grilling, outdoor games and relaxing coffee talk in the mornings. The hostess was so sweet and wanted to make sure we all felt comfortable and at home. The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is that I was surprised the host occupied the basement of the house while we were there. I have myself to blame as I did not read all of the reviews. If I would have, I would have seen this mentioned in December of 2024. I do think that the listing is misleading because in the details it specifically says "Entire House." Since I did not think VRBO listed shared properties, I was not expecting this. This is not the fault of the owner as Evolve Property Management is responsible for this listing but I will be contacting them to suggest that they change that detail in their listing for future guests. Based on past reviews, I am not the only one who was surprised upon arrival that the house was occupied during our stay.

From the owner:
"Thank you so much for your kind words and for choosing my home for your Red Rocks trip! I’m so happy you enjoyed the backyard mornings, the little touches inside, and that you felt comfortable and at home here. It was a joy chatting with you and lending my cooler for your concert adventure — I loved being able to help make your stay fun.
I do understand your surprise about me living on the property. It IS noted in the listing that I live on-site in my own separate basement apartment with its own entrance, and I always honor guests’ privacy. Many reviews mention that I’m available if you need anything, but I stay out of the way unless invited. That balance is very important to me.
I’ve already asked Evolve to help adjust the wording so it’s extra clear for future guests. For anyone considering a stay, I encourage you to read the many 5-star reviews from past guests who’ve shared how much they appreciated both the home and the respectful hospitality.
Thank you again for your feedback!"

It was a pleasure hosting you and your family - I enjoyed meeting all of you. It was fun hearing about all your adventures. Hope to see you again someday.
The property is in a great location on the west side of Denver with easy access to multiple freeways/highways. The host was there at check-in which was surprising. She was very personable and walked us through the property. At this point we were shown a curtain that separated the kitchen from her section... meaning that it's not actually separate from her living space at all. As all of us staying there were responsible we tried to 'get past it'. But then the host informed us that her adult son was visiting her and would be around the property. That made us more uncomfortable. The house itself was decently clean. Some of the towels were stained but everything else was clean and generally well-kept. What made us really uncomfortable was when we were taking part of our party to the airport at 4 am there was someone standing on the other side of the curtain (we could see their shoes). So if you are looking for a truly private property, look elsewhere.

From the Owner: "Thank you for your feedback and for choosing my home during your visit. I’m glad you enjoyed the location and that the house was comfortable for your group. It was also a pleasure connecting over our shared hometown area and seeing the photos of your crafting that you later sent — I always enjoy those personal touches with guests.
For clarity, the basement is a fully separate apartment with a locking door, two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom. The curtain provides privacy by dividing the access to the laundry/garage area, and I’ve been working toward replacing it with a door for added privacy.
As for the moment you noticed at 4 a.m., I understand how that may have felt unsettling. It was simply my son returning quietly to the basement after spending time in the garage on his artwork. I can assure future guests that privacy is always respected, and I never enter the guest space unless invited.
I encourage anyone considering a stay to also read the many 5-star reviews on the Evolve booking sites."
