The home was private and the location was superb. The beds were terrible, sorry, and the house is very dark, except for the upstairs, which we didn't use because my Mom is elderly and couldn't climb up the stairs and into the tall bed. All it needs is a ceiling light in the living room and brighter lights in the kitchen some extra light bulbs would have been good to have. There were spiderwebs and flying insects in and out of the house, which is reasonable for the creekside location, and we found sprays under the sink to ward them off. We enjoyed our stay because of the surroundings, but we wasre happy when it was time to move on, too. There is no place to empty the trash we had to take with us. We finally found a gas station dumpster in LaVeta to dump it in.

From the owner:
"Thank you for your thoughtful review. We have had an unusually high amount of rain this summer, making everything beautiful and lowering the fire danger but the insects love it as well. We continue to deal with it both inside and outside the house. The upstairs bed is a custom made, hand carved bed from New Mexico and there is a step stool available to access it. It is very comfortable. We have overhead lighting in the kitchen and dining room to compensate for the low ceilings and multiple floor lamps in the family room to enhance the lighting. The upstairs has vaulted ceilings and passive solar lighting and is a very exceptional open space. We have replaced the mattresses downstairs to address the comfort issue. We cannot offer trash services due to bears in the area but if you give us a call, we are willing to help dispose of the trash. We are glad you enjoyed the area. It is a beautiful location."
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin very much! We especially loved the outdoor space. We brought our portable propane firepit and enjoyed playing horse shoes and just sitting under the large trees having conversation and cocktails. The location to the Village is awesome to bike or hike to. The front patio was awesome for morning coffee and afternoon drinks while enjoying the view. The back deck was super zen while swinging and listening to the creek and the birds. The interior is a little dark for our taste, but the vaulted master makes up for it with the volume and light. We had a great trip and thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Lisa, Thanks so much for your review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Cuchara is a very special place and we work hard to make sure our guests are satisfied with their stay. We agree that the creekside area offers a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere and it has been a special treat to have our guests be able to use the firepit area this summer. Thanks again and we hope to see you again soon.
Peaceful stay.

From the Owner: "Catrina, thanks for your positive review. We are so glad you enjoyed our home. We hope that you come back and visit us soon. Happy holidays."
We had a great time and the management was very accommodating. The area had a power outage due to the storm and phone lines were a challenge. The management ensured we were taken care of through the situation. The creek in the back of the cabin is serene and the wildlife viewing from the cabin was a plus!

From the Owner: "Diana, thanks for your positive review. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. The house is a very peaceful place, and the wildlife in the area is an added plus for us, as well. We were more than happy to work with you during the power outage (luckily, a rare occurrence). We hope you will visit us again soon."
