This beautiful cabin sits right up against the mountain with a trail right from your back doorstep that goes along the mountain. The log home is not brand new but it’s well taken care of and we enjoyed our stay immensely. There are many small touches that they thought of to make our stay more enjoyable. Games to play, a book with lots of tips for the surrounding area, lots of fun blankets to use and so much more.
Not sure why their pictures of the two bedrooms on the main floor do not show nightstands but they do have them in both of those bedrooms.
It has a beautiful outside deck that you can eat your meals at and it is wonderful to sit out there and watch the sunrise against the mountain in the morning especially since there are no houses behind you. they also have a fire pit underneath the table on the deck but we didn’t use it because it was too warm already.
It would be a beautiful area to watch the night sky if the moon wasn’t full like it was when we were there. However, it’s still a beautiful night sky was not a lot of light in the surrounding areas so bring a telescope.
The entrance to the home is on the basement level through the garage and so to get to the main level you do have to go upstairs. You can also enter the main level of the house by going up stairs from the parking area outside of the home that wind around to the front door. Be prepared to do stairs just like it mentions in their info about the property. There is no actual Lawn to play games or anything on but it has been landscaped and it appears that there might have been some spring flowers that bloomed but were done blooming when we were there in the middle of the summer.
Our family had a great time and if we ever get back to that part of the country we would definitely rent again.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review, Liz. You and your family were wonderful guests and we'd love to host another stay if you ever find yourself in the area again!
This place was just stunning. The pictures give you a sense of things but that view is just breathtaking. You can literally walk off the patio and access this amazing hike around the ridge of the mountain. Its not very treacherous either so great for all types of hikers. We spent the day exploring the area: skiing at sunlight, hotsprings at iron mountain, cave spa, adventure park, rifle park (Must see!). Everything is within 10-40 mins. We came back each afternoon and enjoyed our own personal mountain views and climbs. House was perfect with plenty of space. Kids from 7-18 just stayed out on the mountain and there was barely any screen time. Very much recommend if you are staying any where near glenwood springs.

Our immediate family stayed here prior to our daughter’s/sister’s wedding in Rifle Co. This house was awesome! Beautiful house, great views, and lots of space to hang out . Close to hikes like Hanging Lake, Grizzly Creek and Rifle Falls and Caves. We loved the huge deck, gas fire pit and grill. A great way to start the wedding stay before moving into the Hotel Colorado for wedding festivities!
Very beautiful home, clean, and has all necessary appliances to make you feel at home. Owners were very communicative and friendly. Definitely recommend staying here.
