Came to Estes Park, Co for a half marathon with our daughter, son-in-law,, and our two doggies. Needed a place that was pet friendly and this place met the need. James and his wife (the owners) are on site and amazing hosts. Very cozy and enjoyable for all of us.

Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us during your half marathon visit to Estes Park! We're delighted to hear that our pet-friendly accommodations worked perfectly for your family and your two doggies. James and I truly appreciate your kind words about our hospitality - it means the world to us when guests feel welcomed and comfortable. We're so glad everyone enjoyed their stay and that our cozy space met your needs. We hope to see you and your family again soon!
We were disappointed with our cabin. It was not as nice as it looked in the pictures. It was kind of shabby, the living room furniture was not comfortable at all (the recliner seemed to be broken). One side of the handle of the stove fell off the first time we touched it. Knives so dull, we couldn’t cut an onion. The WiFi was so spotty, we couldn’t make phone calls or check email a lot of the time (out of cell range). No streaming allowed which was fine with us but we could hardly do anything at all. And we paid a lot of money to stay here!!
The outdoors was beautiful however. Hummingbirds everywhere. An elk and its calf wandering around. Cute little chipmunks. Geese and goslings, ducks. The views of the Big Thompson River are awesome.
The only place to walk is the driveway of the property unless you are in very good shape and want to hike straight up a mountain.
So, some great qualities, some that make you wonder why you paid so much.
From the owner: "We're pleased to let you know that we've already addressed several of the concerns you mentioned:
- The recliner has been replaced with a new, comfortable chair.
- The stove handle has been repaired, and we've ordered a brand new stove since we've had recurring issues with the current one.
- We apologize about the dull knives - since we live right on the property, we would have been happy to bring you sharp knives immediately if you had reached out to us during your stay.
- Regarding the WiFi connectivity, we understand how frustrating this can be, especially when you're out of cell range. This is an ongoing challenge in our remote mountain location, and we're continuously working with our internet provider to improve service reliability.
We're so glad you were able to enjoy the natural beauty that makes our location special - the wildlife, river views, and mountain canyon setting.
Thank you again for your honest feedback. It helps us continue improving."
