Cabin was clean & organized. Welcome binder explained all the aspects of our stay as well as suggestions on places nearby to check out. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed for two nights and felt totally refreshed. Though there are other residences in the area, you feel like you are happily hiding away from world. When we arrived, we just stood by our car for a couple minutes breathing in the smell of pines and looking at the vista. The cabin is as wonderful and cozy as you could hope for. Nicely maintained and owners have supplied some curtesy items that made us more comfortable. Three great beds and a futon. I suggest the futon for a child because it's pretty short, so keep that in mind. But it is in it's own delightful little room and has the half bath near by, So it's a nice trade off. The dining table is ample size for four to six people to dine or play games. Owners have provided some activities and an extra table in the futon room which is nice. We were there for two breakfasts and we had an outside place to enjoy the morning air while we did so. The first day, I enjoyed a quiet coffee by myself in the wonderful rustic rocker on the front deck overlooking the valley. The second morning, we all enjoyed the picnic table out back and felt very secluded in our hideaway. We saw a little wildlife, though our out of state guest really wanted to see an elusive bear. Sorry, no bear. The owners were very attentive and helpful, but not intrusive by any means. Very nice. If you choose this property, be sure to take the driving instructions with you. And a navigator to read them is a good plan. It's a decent mountain road but there are several turns but it's not on GPS. Each intersection is well marked, however and we had no problem finding it. The location is great for being away from it all while having lots of tourist activities available. It's about 45 minutes from Manitou Springs and the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. The Fossil beds National Monument is about twenty minutes away. We chose Cripple Creek for our outing. Plenty of eateries. Some fun gift shops. Gambling of course. We chose to visit and art exhibit and attended the production at the historic Butte Theater, which is more than 125 years old. It was a fun production, well done with a small cast and intimate, fun atmosphere. You won't be sorry you booked this one. Loved it!!
