  • DO NOT STAY HERE - Nightmare Experience!

    We’ve used VRBO for years and never had such a nightmare. This is a basement unit with no access to heat or AC controls – we were told the company controls it remotely and to text if we were too cold or too hot. It was freezing when we arrived, and we had no way to fix it ourselves. We were also told we could not use any backyard amenities or sit on the outdoor furniture, which was never disclosed in the listing. The noise from upstairs was unbearable – screaming kids and yelling parents all night and day. We got no sleep and had no peace. The unit was infested with live and dead roaches and spiders in the kitchen, bedrooms, and living space. The bathroom smelled like sewage and had huge exposed pipes. We had to burn a candle just to tolerate showering. It took us nearly 10 hours, multiple rerouted calls, and constant pushback from VRBO to finally leave and get a refund. They even asked us to upload photos of bugs and record the noise at night – which was unreasonable and insulting. The host was unresponsive and VRBO was no help. This place was cold, dirty, noisy, and absolutely misrepresented. Do not stay here.

    - We inform all guests ahead of time that the thermostat is managed remotely, but we’re happy to adjust it upon request if the temperature is uncomfortable.
    - Access to the outside amenities is not included in the listing, and this is communicated clearly before check-in.
    - The listing also states there's another bookable vacation rental upstairs, and other guests may be present.
    - The unit was professionally cleaned the day before your arrival, and we also maintain regular pest control.
    - We have not received previous complaints about a smell in the bathroom, and we'll look into it to ensure everything is in order.
    We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve the guest experience.

    To start this review I want to mention several points, it is a property with baseman, the place is good but it has many deficiencies that can be improved, # 1 cleanliness, the place is dirty, you start to notice it over time, # 2 the bedrooms, they are good but the pillows are not comfortable, the beds had dirty socks on the sheets, # 3 the dryer makes a rundown like an old cart when it is drying, # 4 the furnace is between the two bedrooms, you can not sleep because of the sound, # 6 you can talk to the manager but he does not solve absolutely anything, you have to call an 800 number to be able to have some type of communication to express your complaints # 7 there are 2 access doors to the property, (baseman) that communicate with the main house (first floor) in my opinion I think they are a danger to the family because you do not know if someone can enter when you are not there or when you are asleep, the truth is they look very terrifying, I could not sleep, and if it were the In case they were emergency exits, they would have to be marked with a sign and have access to them. #7 And the worst thing is that the thermostat is on the upper floor, you cannot control it from there, you have to call the person in charge to be able to turn it off or learn, in conclusion, I am making this type of review so that whoever is thinking of renting this property is not fooled by the photographs that the owner compares, since it seems like a cozy place but in reality it seems like a very neglected place.
