  Overall, very nice place. Listing says "steps required to access property" -- true, but a bit understated. There is one steep flight up from the street, then a less steep flight to to lower level of the house. Once inside another steep flight to the living area, then another steep flight to bedrooms 4 and 5.

  Great accommodations for family. Kitchen, dining area (large table), bedrooms, beds & bathrooms were great. Outside decks were wonderful places to sit and talk. Downsides are number of steps, very difficult parking & initial musty smell. May book again.

• Excellent property with steps

  Our family of 6 had a very comfortable stay at this large home. At 81 years old, I found the 61 steps to the main level to be a doable task.

  Quaint, spacious cabin at donner lake. We enjoyed our stay. Property can get hot in the summer, could use another window screen or screen door.

• It would have been a perfect stay

  My family and I booked this house for a family reunion at Donner Lake. The location was super convenient. The house has ample room and was fully loaded with games for the kids. There are a lot of stairs, no joke. Upon arrival, it had looked like cleaners had not come and the linens were all in piles on the floor, as if someone had just left. I called Jessica to rectify the situation. Her reasoning was that the owner’s son sometimes stays there and does not inform the management, so the cleaners are not updated in time to clean. There were almost enough clean linens to cover all of the beds so we declined her offer to send the cleaners out the next day to avoid the inconvenience. We washed ALL of the dirty linens and towels left and returned them to storage so the cleaners wouldn’t have to do double the work(this was not asked of us). Jessica also offered me a return of cleaning fee through Venmo in return for not mentioning it on the review. That is where my issue began. Unfortunately, I should have assumed that the flexibility and follow through would not be returned on her end. After our stay and execution of check out instructions, I called her to confirm directions and sent her my Venmo info. It has been a week since we have checked out. I have not received a refund of the cleaning fee. I have not received correspondence back to rectify the situation. Although our stay was great and the house itself was awesome, this situation has left a sour taste for us.
