We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and comfortable. A good nights sleep is so important on vacation and all the beds were very comfy. We enjoyed a week of quilting, shopping at a great quilt shop in Susanville, visiting breathtaking Mt Lassen Park and Burney Falls. We hope to return next year to explore more of the area.

There was no communication about the checkin procedure and we arrived at the place after the 4pm allowed checkin time. We waited for 30 minutes hoping someone would come by and let us in. The neighbor across the street saw us all there, and to our surprise about 10-15 minutes after seeing us, she came over and said she was the property manager and opened the door to let us in. Not even so much as a "Hi" to greet us. It was very rude and my family was not impressed. The place was very nice and clean, but the trouble at checkin really made us feel very unwelcome. I had asked for an early checkin through the VRBO message and did get an email response from a dedicated contact person a few hours later that was a boiler plate email, basically saying no. Again, very unwelcoming. The house was setup nice and had coffee, and all the supplies you would need. The game closet was also very nice. My main complaint is the coldness of the host(s). I always like being able to call or talk to someone if there are problems. It would have been much nicer to get an email with the contact (phone number) before checkin, so I could feel we were covered in the case of problems. I felt like leaving after our unwelcome introduction.

Hi Daniel, We are happy to hear that your family enjoyed the complimentary coffee! We want our guests to feel welcome when they stay with us, and we apologize that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- Evolve emails guests the check-in instructions right after they book, then again before the check-in for the trip. There is a possibility you could have missed the emails and we are sorry if this was the case.
- We are happy to hear you were able to enter the property successfully and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this situation may have caused.
Thanks for letting us know about your stay!
This is a great house and location for exploring Lassen and the surrounding area. When we lost power due to a thunderstorm, the owner proactively reached out to let us know about a battery pack we could use to keep our devices charged. This was very thoughtful. The house itself was clean and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

We loved it here. Spent most of our time at Lassen NP, but couldn’t have asked for a better place to come back to after exploring all day. Having coffee on sight was the best, we arrived late and were so relieved that we had some for the next morning!!!
We loved it!!
From the owner:
"That is awesome, we are so glad you had a good time."
The property was very clean and easy to find! We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and the short drive to the northern entrance to Lassen Volcanic NP. The drive to the southwester NP gate was a little over an hour and very scenic. Shingletown is a very small town- we stopped at Anderson on way in to purchase groceries. Due to the rural area, there wasn't cell service at the house, which was okay for us. After leaving, the property manager texted that we had left my husband's glasses by mistake - the manager was great working with us to have the glasses mailed! Would definitely recommend the property!
