Great location: minutes to Balboa Park, easy freeway access to get anywhere in San Diego easily, walk to lots of restaurants, pubs, coffee shops. Street parking is a challenge, but the owner was gracious and let us park in his "loading" zone if we couldn't find street parking, which was most nights. Owner needs new cleaning person since there was dirt, dust bunnies in corners especially under bar seating. If you need more than 1 towel per person, bring your own. Full size range is pointless since no pots/pans/cooking utensils. Very basic dishes--one sharp knife, 2 mugs, 2 glasses, few plates, bowls, silverware. Rules say for guests to wash and put away dishes prior to leaving. Since no dishwasher, that means guests must trust that previous guests thoroughly hand washed dishes--yuk! Better for owner to ditch the range and install a small dishwasher.
Hi Glenn, thanks for letting us know about your stay. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they would like to share the following:
-Your positive feedback regarding the location and hospitality is greatly appreciated and holds significant value for us.
-We apologize for the inconvenience you faced in locating extra pots and pans under the stove, as well as additional mugs and utensils in the kitchen cabinet. To assist future guests, we are considering implementing labels on the doors for easier navigation.
-Regarding towels, our standard provision is one per guest. Additionally, we've ensured that laundry facilities are conveniently located just a few steps outside the back door.
-Our utmost priority is to consistently deliver a safe and pristine experience for all our guests.
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.
I was a little disappointed by this unit. The cleanliness upon arrival was not up to par (kitchen had not been wiped down well, finger prints on the cabinets, microwave filled with cooked cheese and crumbs, bathroom had a fair bit of hair on the floor, etc.) but Michael quickly offered to have the cleaning lady come back and agreed to refund me the cleaning fee. I had already cleaned up what I could and the refund was appreciated. The listing indicated a washer/dryer, and I had to clarify with Michael where it was located (not inside the unit, but out back). I am used to unit owners leaving renters with brief instructions on such things like that. The unit could use some updating (patch up some walls/paint)- but it got the job done. Great location in North Park- close to lots of restaurants and shops, quiet overall (a few mornings there was someone doing drilling and carpentry out the back door). Great shower head, comfortable bed. AC worked very well. Check-in was easy with key access code. I did not have a car, but I could see how parking could be a little tricky at certain hours. Michael was not super responsive to emails- I had to resend a couple times for a response, but he was always courteous. Not a bad experience, but I probably wouldn't choose this unit again.

Comfortable and clean little house. Quiet and simple to find. The notes in the VRBO ad do say some stairs, which is true, but the the bedroom and bathroom are upstairs.
We enjoyed our stay very much. No problems.
