• Buyer beware! This place is not what it seems...

  Where to begin?... Pretty much from the moment we walked in, this stay was a disaster. We went to unload our groceries only to find an open glass of milk and some old ground beef in the refrigerator (can you say stinky and gross?)! There was also a mug that was half filled with old cooking grease and a vase of DEAD flowers on the counter. Why? Just, why? Heading up the stairs was a dangerous trek - there is no way these things are up to code! Steep, narrow, slippery steps along with a loose handrail make for a scary climb. Dog/Kid-friendly? Not! My dog tried getting up the steps but about halfway up lost his footing and tumbled all the way down! From that point on I never let him climb up or down the steps alone and had to carry him (luckily, he's a small dog)! Once in the bedrooms, I was disappointed to find that I had to make the beds myself. The linens were folded at the foot of each bed, so I assumed they were clean (rethinking that now), but I've never had to make my own bed in a place I've stayed, have you? And then there were the toenail clippings. Yes, TOENAIL CLIPPINGS on the bedside table. I think that's all I need to say about that. Once we'd settled in (i.e. cleaned the house and made the beds) we started cooking dinner. The pots and pans were disgusting, there were things stored in the oven that had to be moved if we wanted to use it, the grill outside looked like it had never been cleaned and didn't even work (we had to finish cooking our steaks inside because we could barely get the grill to warm them up), and the sponge we were supposed to use to wash the dishes looked like it had been there since 2023! And when we sat down to dinner, we thought the dining chairs were going to fall apart because they were so poorly put together. The next day we had to make a grocery store run to get a new sponge, along with some toilet paper and paper towels, since we were only left a couple of rolls of toilet paper and one roll of paper towels for our 3-night stay for 3 people. I could go on but suffice it to say that I would NEVER stay here again and I'm not sure I would even trust Evolve to book another stay anywhere, period.

  We really loved staying in the home. The home is really clean and the kitchen is beautiful. We were very comfortable.
