It was incredible!
Everything was just right for our October 2023 retreat. The gorgeous woods outside the cabin, the cabin itself and the beds and kitchen. We have no complaints and will be back next year, most definitely.

From beginning to end this was the perfect location and house for my family that ranged in age from 4 all the way to 80. everyone had an amazing stay. Was it the view from the deck? Was it the spacious house? Was it the natural surroundings? It was all of this and so much more. We can't wait to come back in the winter and enjoy all of it with some snow on the ground.

The house is large and well maintained. Very secluded at the end of a road in beautiful setting with forest on one side and meadow on the other. Decks delightful especially when the sun was out. Perfect for celebrating our family birthday. Small issue with WiFi, but owner was responsive and got it fixed. Overall, a great experience.

The house was beautiful, but we had many issues with the company, the neighbors and the owner where we felt unsafe. There was a strict 10 mph speed limit on the road leading to the house (which the intensity to which the neighbors enforced this speed limit was unbeknownst to us) yet we were wrongly accused of speeding, with both the company and the owner calling and messaging me only to realize the cars that were speeding were a different color than the cars we were driving. Then, later on, we had one guest exceed the limit and the neighbors drove in front of her and behind, cornering her and harassing her. The owner gave the neighbor permission to trespass onto the property and take video footage of myself and my guests, which at the time I did not know the owner asked the neighbors to do that. I have video footage of the car driving up while we were on the deck in meditation, loitering, videotaping us and giving the rudest and scariest stare. Also, we continued to hear gunshots from neighbors as the weekend continued. This behavior is wrong on so many levels and the lack of safety was a huge issue. There were many other issues encountered but I'll leave it at that. The house is nice, but if you want to risk being harassed and treated like a criminal this place is for you.
Hi Lauren, while we want our guests to enjoy their stay here, we also need them to respect our house rules and treat the property as their own. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- We make it clear in our listing that no large gatherings are allowed at the property. Our vacation home permit only allows up to 10 guests. Unfortunately, there were significantly more guests than the booking allowed. Our driveway can only accommodate 3 cars and there were also too many vehicles being parked at the property during your stay.
- We've never had issues with guest safety and do advertise the location of our home in our listing so that guests can be aware of our location and neighborhood. The neighbor's actions are outside our control but inconsistent considering our long history with them.
- We are happy to share that no issues were reported by the guests who stayed the following weekend. During the ten years that we have been hosting guests through Evolve, this is the first time that we have ever requested that Evolve reach out and address an issue with a guest in residence.
