  • We loved escaping to this cosy A-frame in the mountains!

    4/5

There was plenty of space for our family off four. The beds were comfortable, the property was clean. The front deck was a great place to read, dine alfresco and spot woodpeckers and jays. The owner has decorated the property with art and vintage finds, the kitchen had everything we needed. We needed to get in touch with the property management company a couple of times because there was no toilet paper when we arrived and the WIFI wasn't working. The toilet paper issue was resolved quickly but they were unhelpful and a little hostile when we asked about the WIFI. Other than that, we had a great experience and would definitely visit again.

  • Great Potential

    4/5

House is very cute. Eclectic mountain style. Blended with vintage. Great location. Had a few issues: unit was not cleaned for our arrival. Food remnants on table and counters. Beds had dirty sheets. Fridge was full of food; half-done wine bottles and milk, etc. Freezer had coffee grounds on the shelf. Local management company sent a cleaner and fixed it up in about an hour. Future renters should know the owner lives in the home (not while you are there). The bathroom drawers are full of their stuff. Hairbrushes, makeup, and pregnancy tests. The fridge will have their stuff in it; we just put it all in the door. Hard to find enough space when staying four days. We just think if owners are renting a home it should be guest ready. Also, Evolve Vacation Rentals is very difficult to reach. They are the bookerof record. Their website promises Guest Readyupon arrival, and you can call if you need help. Problem: They don't answer phones. Evolve uses a local management company for maintenance issues. However, if there is an issue with money, you must deal with Evolve. There are a lot of people involved in this transaction: HomeAway, Evolve Vacation Rentals, Hammers Patrol.

  • Cute, modern type cabin, but never felt really settled in

    2/5

    PROS:

-AC was turned on which was nice since it was warm out when we checked in.

-Great selection of books and art throughout the house

    -Bedrooms decorated very nicely

-TV was very easy to navigate and had many options for streaming

-Automatic/ solar lights outside was useful

-Bed in dwnstrs room was very comfortable

-Owner offered a wide range of toiletries in bathroom

-Bose Bluetooth speaker in kitchen was nice to have while cooking and BBQ’ing

    CONS:

-First, listing pictures make the space look a lot bigger and more spaced out than it really is inside- they most likely used one of those fisheye long lenses to make spaces look longer and open in listings

-Living and dining area are super cluttered; furniture and nick knacks make it feel super crowded

-Not as many records as pics show- also record turntable was not working at all, so that was pointless.

-I was told that I could not check in early so that cleaning service was not rushed- if that were the case, I expected the place to be thoroughly cleaned, it was not.

-BBQ area was not cleaned at all- dust everywhere, pieces of wrappers and used ear plugs found in bedrooms

-There were signs everywhere- if you don’t want things touched/ used, probably better to just remove/ put away, or I suggest making nicer signs, a simple “please” goes a long way.

-Owner had food in freezer and lots of condiments- and “do not touch,” notes in there too

-Everything locked- all closets locked, even in main bedroom- all dressers full with owners private things- 1-2 drawers max available- could not put any clothing or hang anything up during our stay

-A maintenance man randomly showed up without prior warning/ heads up from management office or owner- drained hot tub and left. Told us we had to wait couple hours until we could use it again- would have been great to have had that already taken care of prior to our stay in the 6 hours that were supposedly needed to get the place ready for our stay.

-Room w/ access to the Jacuzzi was locked off which was unfortunate as you have to walk all the way around the house to get to it, when you could easily go through the house.

-Also, there was no portable fireplace as pic in listing also showed in hot tub area.

-Backyard is also not fenced in, if you are planning to bring your pet- like we did you can’t let them off leash with wild animals roaming around at night, which was a bit of an inconvenience

Overall: Cute, modern type cabin, but never felt really settled in with so many restrictions put in place.
