  Very nice property. There are stairs to enter the home and driveway is steep but that is to be expected in the hills. Location was perfect, central to everything we wanted to do.

• Great house, pool and view!

  We found this house to be a great central location in a very nice area. There were great restaurants and a grocery store very close by and convenient. Great communication with owner/property manager. We loved this place and would stay again.

  House was as described and pictured. Beautiful views from deck and inside the home. Pool and front deck were great outside space. Wifi worked well. Kitchen could use an update and definitely be better stocked with utensils, wine glasses etc. Homeowners were great and very responsive when we had questions

  We appreciate your comments on the kitchen. It is clean, functional, and stocked with essentials, including a coffee/tea bar. There are wine glasses in both the kitchen and dining room cabinets, and utensils are kept well stocked, with extras available for outings like picnics. That said, we’ll certainly review our inventory again to make sure everything is easy to find and meets guest expectations. We’re so glad you found us responsive during your stay."

  Mostly good. The place was as pictured and the pool was great. We were a family of 5 and spend a great deal of time either by the pool or on the deck. The pools wasn't heated but frankly we were there in July and it was perfect temperature. The views are spectacular from the deck and a great place for us to just relax and unwind after a day of activities. The neighbors have roosters that are up crowing at 5 am so don't plan on sleeping in. Also the basics were provided but only 1 per person. For example 5 bath towels, 5 wash cloths, 5 beach towels, 5 table knifes, 6 forks, 3 cereal bowls. It would have been nice to have a couple extra. Also in the downstairs laundry it looked like the fire alarm had been removed and not yet replaced as the wires was hanging.The living room ceiling lights do not work which I reported right away to the owners. The answer was just use the wall lights as they are more efficient, so guessing they bulbs have just never been replaced. They also did not like us leaving the front porch lights on during the day but if we are leaving and don't plan on being back until dark I prefer to have the lights on for our return.We realize the roosters our out of control of the owners but it maybe should be mentioned, especially when the sun rises so early during the summer.

  From the Owner: "Thank you for choosing our home. Following is in response to your 4-star review. Unheated pool was advertised. We were not aware of roosters. We have reported it to authorities. Roosters on properties are against the law. Comments re folks not being able to sleep were inappropriate. Towels: Standard verified by the company, and our experience staying at properties indicates that the norm is the same amount as the number of people staying at the property. Bowls: we provide a full set of China and silverware, including plastic utensils. Maybe could check other cabinets. Table was already pre-set for 4. Laundry: wires were capped off (safe), but not exactly in the area near the washer and dryer. Ceiling lights: purpose is to highlight pictures on walls, not to light a room. Front door: ceiling, keypad & doorbell lights. The latter 2 have sensors that light up brightly when someone is 20 ft. away. I was available & we texted many times, but above was not mentioned. Be well."

• Wonderful place

  Our family had a wonderful stay in La Mesa as a base for a weeks vacation in the San Diego area - perfectly situated and well connected, the house is a haven of tranquility. The facilities are excellent and we had everything we needed for the 4 of us, including 2 under 5 year olds.

  Host was on hand for any questions we had and we appreciated easy contact and friendliness.
