2/5 The host was extremely responsive. The home itself was over 100 years old and had all the problems that come with age: no heat in one of two bedrooms and the bathroom; no working outlets in the bathroom; bad smell; ant infestation. The shower had a single, half-panel of glass so you were basically out in the open and without heat, it was freezing.

5/5 We absolutely love staying in the Castro house in the heart of Carpinteria! We love the spacious layout of this historic vacation rental! Everything was well appointed, the beds were so comfortable. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. to cook meals and loved the 10 minute walk to the beach. Jana was very responsive with messaging and very sweet as well! We look forward to coming back soon. I highly recommend staying at the Castro house!

Charming place!
5/5 Loved this quality home of character! Beautiful throughout with comfortable beds, enjoyable private hot tub, nice kitchen, good and helpful communication and with every other amenity we needed. Also, location wise you can easily walk anywhere in this quaint town. With such lovely old time detail, they just don't build homes like this anymore.
