  The unit itself is upscale, comfortable, well-located, and nicely appointed. We genuinely enjoyed the space and would describe the physical property as high quality.

  Unfortunately, the management and communication experience was the worst we’ve had at a short-term rental, especially at this price point.

  From the start, communication was poor and often incorrect. Right at arrival, the gate code provided was wrong. We were never told that an iPad was required to control the outdoor TV until almost a week into the stay. There was no garbage can provided for trash, and the guest book listed the wrong garbage day — we later found out the book was outdated. These are basic things that should be handled proactively in a “luxury” rental.

  Cleanliness on arrival was also well below expectations. The large sliding glass doors were filthy and the view was seriously obscured. There was a lot of dirt (and who knows what else) under the master bed, the oven was dirty, and the cabinets clearly hadn’t been dusted or properly cleaned.

  They did send someone to clean after a few days, but this was handled very poorly. We were told someone would arrive at a specific time. We waited about 45 minutes before needing to leave, then contacted management from inside the unit to say no one had arrived and that we did not want anyone entering if we were not present. We were later told the cleaner had been there at the same time we were — which is simply not true, as we were in the unit the entire time and no one came. Regardless, the unit was accessed while we were away despite our explicit instructions. Again, there was no apology and no accountability.

  The Shark vacuum in the unit did not work. To their credit, it was eventually replaced, but no one told us a new one was coming. An unmarked box was delivered and sat in the unit for several days because we had no idea what it was or why it was there.

  The bed was also extremely soft, and I woke up with a sore neck each day.

  More concerning than the individual issues was the complete lack of communication and accountability. We were never given a simple apology — not once. Everything was reactive, and information was only shared after we asked. Overall, the service and communication fell far short of what we would expect for a luxury-priced stay.

  In short: great unit, very poor management and communication. If the service side were fixed, this could be an excellent property.

  The unit was exactly as shown from the listing. The development at Troon North where unit is located is very nice. It is near many hiking trails and golf courses. There is a nice bar/grill within walking distance at the club house. We used the pool and exercise room quite often and are just across the street. The grill on our patio was a nice touch. It was nice not having to go to the pool area to grill. The Patio of this unit is also very nice and we spent a lot of time on the patio.

  For future renters please make sure you

  -Receive the correct gate to enter complex

  -Receive full keypad code to enter unit.

  -Receive Instructions on what to do if Alarm System starts chiming.

  -Get instructions how to work smart remotes for TV's/lighting and temperature control

  Our six weeks went by so fast.

• What a beautiful Home Away From Home!!

  The home is absolutely beautiful, clean, and everything worked perfectly. The host was receptive to all our questions and requests. The surrounding area in North Troon was amazing with huge rock formations and views of the distant mountains. The hot tub and pool are great and right across the street. I would stay there again in a minute!!
