Very dusty. Too many throw rugs. Too many personal items made it seem cluttered and very dirty old pillows on the beds.
Beautiful house but probably won’t stay again.

Owner's response: "Sheila, You are right that one pillow (not the cover) was noted to have a stain and was thrown away. All other pillows on the beds were not dirty and did have clean covers on them for your stay. There were also four additional clean pillows in the linen closet for your use.
As for the dusty rating, I accept that and apologize. It is Phoenix, a desert, it has been windy and the City has been doing road work along with our home across the street having 5000 square feet of grass removed and desert landscaping put in. As you know Arizona is in its 22nd year of drought. Hot and dusty.
There are four throw rugs in the home. One in each bathroom, in the entry, and in the sunroom. Not sure how to respond to your rating of too many personal items in the home. There are some antique furnishings along with period dishware and knick-knacks. I supply sodas, coffee, candy, linens, towels, etc. for your use. Did you look at the pictures on Evolve, of the interior of this home within the Willo Historic Neighborhood before renting? Comments I receive from guests are usually what a beautifully period-furnished home you have. The home has been on the Willo Historic Neighborhood annual home tour twice over the last 10 years. We personally like the historic Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego over the Ritz Carlton. We all have our preferences.
While you did not bring up two other issues, I will as the host. You were not pleased thinking I had given you the wrong code to open the security gate. I let you know it was the code but you said it would not open the common Home Depot Master four code lock. I came over and opened the lock with that code for you. Not sure why you could not do it. Then upon leaving you let me know that all the power was off in the kitchen and the garbage disposal was not working. The garbage disposal was full of water and the GFI had tripped. My husband removed something from the disposal, reset the GFI and the power went back on. The power was on when you arrived at the home. We likely will remove the kitchen food garbage disposal. Like hotels ask folks not to flush certain things down the toilet, when occupants do anyway and they back up, it makes folks mad. I imagine the kitchen power going off did not make you happy."
Went out for a quick few days for sons graduation and move out for both of our kids. Very comfortable and clean and very dog friendly. Fully fenced back yard keeps them safe. Super comfy beds and great spots throughout to sit and chat. Property owners are responsive beyond belief. Highly recommend

Property manager is excellent. Very nice small private yard. The house is a little dated but is very charming and clean. We would definitely stay here again

The property is very old as well as the beds and the linens. There is one tv in in a room with uncomfortable chairs. The towels that were laid out I would clean my car with it. The host was nice but it was not a place I would stay again. I wanted to write this review months ago but it never allowed me too

Hi Jeanne, we're sorry to hear that this property did not exceed your expectations. We followed up with the homeowner, who was surprised as they were not notified of any concerns while you were in residence. They assured us that the home and furnishings are well-kept, including all towels, linens, and chairs. We are confident that future guests will find this home clean and comfortable!
Fist of all I will say that the location of the property and the neighborhood are spot on. The owner is next door and extremely sweet and giving. That is why this review is hard to right. The yard and patio are wonderful. If you enjoy antiques and are not a fan of relaxing and watching a favorite TV show or movie, this is you place. If you want comfortable furniture, and a nice place to curl up as a family to watch TV, read a book, relax and enjoy some down time, you might want to look elsewhere. The living room furniture was sparce, old and not comfortable. The TV is stuffed in a bedroom/Den with two very uncomfortable chairs and a trundle bed so high up you could not safely get on and off (hint, remove the box spring, it is irrelevant). There are dusty un-interesting nick-nacks that do not add value all over. and little door hangers on every door that just get in the way.The kitchen is a mish mash of old discarded items, and is not very functional. The cupboards are full of stuff, but not organized in any sensible way. For instance, who many sets of china do you need? For me, 1 full set. How many sets of silverware do you need? Again, 1 full set. How many cookie Jars do you need taking up all the counter space? In a rental, None! The bathrooms! zero space for quests to put their things. instead of a small vanity that looks 'historic' a large vanity with drawers and counter space would be more convenient.

Hi Daniel, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:
-We feel the TV is in an appropriate spot in the home, and the chairs are comfortable. There are three chairs, and one is smaller.
-The trundle bed is high but not so high that you feel you'd fall off. We haven't had this comment before, but we'll assess and make adjustments where needed.
-We always check the property is clean and guest-ready before guests arrive.
-We've removed the door hangers, as we understand they can get in the way.
-We provide extra plates and silverware to accommodate a larger group if needed.
-We provide one jar for cookies and one for biscotti. We like to leave treats for our guests to enjoy.
-The vanity came with the home, and there isn't much space or room for an adjustment.
-Unfortunately, we found out you brought an additional dog. We ask that guests please respect our house rules and policies.
We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and we are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!
