• Home needs maintenance and major cleaning, if not a complete remodel

  We chose this house for the location close to trails despite suspecting based on the photos and reviews that the house might disappoint. We wouldn’t stay at this place again.

  The host was responsive and communicative. Check in was easy and the floor plan and casita worked well for our group. We found the kitchen floor was really dirty when we checked in with pieces of lettuce on the floor. Bathmat in at least one bathroom had not been washed from prior guests — there was toothpaste on the mat. We found dirty clothes in one of the dressers and bedside table. The host sent the cleaner back. She cleaned the food off the kitchen floor and replaced the bathmat, but the floors and carpets really need a deep cleaning that the cleaner could not do with us there. I’m used to walking barefoot in the house, but the bottoms of my feet got filthy just walking around the house.

  Garage hang out area was great for the teens and for prepping to go on OHV rides, but the dart board had no darts, the corn hole planks were broken and the ping pong table net was broken. The beautiful tree in the front yard provides great shade, but one of our group was allergic to bees, which were collecting pollen all over the tree, making him a bit nervous— other guests should be aware of the bees. The yard needs some love. Lots of weeds and the shrubs looked pretty haggard. The pool has missing tiles and had a crack.

  Patio furniture was falling apart, rattan broken, cushions dirty. The pool vacuum was not really working and wind had caused a lot of debris to land in the pool and all over the patio.

  The master bath toilet ran constantly and there was a leak in the casita faucet. We let the host know and she said a plumber was scheduled to fix after our stay. We turned the toilet off at night to keep it quiet.

  The bed frame in the casita did not seem secure— it seemed held together with loose screws. The box spring of the casita king sized bed seems to be two twin box springs, so doesn’t fit the mattress properly.

  Kitchen cabinets are dated and scratched up, likely original to the house, which seems to have been built in the 70s or 80s.

  Nonstick pans were scratched from prior guests using metal utensils in them, which makes the pans not food safe.

  Ice /water dispenser did not work, there was food left from the prior guests in the fridge and the inside of the fridge was dirty.

  We found silverware and many dishes were not clean. We ended up washing all the dishes before we used them.

  House is cozy and spacious. Location is perfect, next to gas station, grocery store, and Havasu Riviera Marina. Owner was very accessible and quick response with questions.
