This is a very nice place, but the pictures and descriptions do not accurately describe it. This appears to have been a small house that has been divided into 4 small rental units. You can hear most of your co-renters pretty easily through the walls, day and night. The pictures shown make it look much bigger than it is. This is really a quite small unit. The "shared" outside amenities are not really adequate for the amount of people they rent to. There is one firepit with like six chairs to be shared between 4 rental units. There are 2 small gas grills to be shared between the 4 units. All units are upstairs, so you will either be climbing a flight of stairs or walking of the handicap access ramps to get up stairs.
Would I rent here again, well that's a tough decision. Given all the extra fees it's really a tough call. If the area had better hotels, a hotel would win for me, but given that the hotels in the area are not that great it is possible, especially knowing what we would be getting. We have stayed in other vacation rental homes in the area and had no let downs when arriving at those locations.
Having said all of that though the room was nice and clean. Communication with them was great, they were very upfront with all the check in information and in helping with a minor issue we had (no trash bags). Very polite and easy to get in contact with. Everything we needed to cook was there and easy to find. It's not that this was a bad place to stay at all I just do not think the pictures and the descriptions accurately described it. We were a little disappointed when we arrived but warmed up to the room and our kids had fun.
1st of all the place is as cute as the pictures and the view is WOW! We arrived and it was spotless and had everything we needed! The owners have thought of everything including a dog bed and bowls for your fur babies! The sweet lady who cleans saw us leaving one morning and checked to make sure we didn’t need extra paper goods or soap you know all the things! Sonya was so sweet to us making sure we didn’t need anything! She also helped make it possible for us to extend our stay when I decided I just couldn’t leave my grand baby just yet! We will for sure be staying here again when we come back to visit!!!
From the owner: "Deanna, I am so happy you enjoyed your stay it was sure a pleasure hosting you and so glad you got to enjoy your grandbaby. Any time we can help with your stay we would love to. Thanks so much!"
Gorgeous view of the mountains just off the river. Easy to get to, smooth check-in, wonderful hosts. The cabin itself was lovely. Beds are super comfy. And you can see the attention to detail everywhere. Can’t wait to come back!

From the owners: Jennifer, it was a pleasure hosting all of you. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at Fish Tales as the area is magical and peaceful. We will look forward to your return. Have a blessed Christmas season.
We were in town for the bluegrass festival so we wanted a place fairly close to the Folk Center (it's about 7 miles) and somewhere we could prepare a meal or two. This cabin really fit the bill. I was very impressed with Sonja's communication with us before our trip began, making some last-minute changes to arrival, and her attention to a problem we encountered once we arrived. She was very responsive to the situation and took care of it to the best of her ability. We would have really enjoyed using the fire pit on the property - it was just too cold outside! The scenery is beautiful and it is a cozy cabin getaway for the weekend!

Hi Amy, From the owner: "Amy, you were wonderful guests, and thanks for being so understanding and kind. It was a pleasure having you. Have a blessed holiday season! - Sonja"
What an awesome place to stay! We arrived after dark, and were blown away the next morning at the beautiful mountains and fog! The wild flowers and lightening bugs were abundant. The small details inside the room were so special. Hand sewn dish towels, doggie bowls, a bag of ice in the freezer, even a few laundry detergent pods so we could do a load of clothes! Starbucks coffee was a left for us and I was SO thankful for that. Netflix too! So many small extras that I didn't expect. Cozy throw blankets, toaster, wine glasses and more! Sonja communicated well and I'll definately be coming again. Loved it!
