  • Our visit to Secluded Flippin Home.

    5/5

The house was amazing and the area is beautiful. We basically used it just to sleep but it was great for what we needed. The only problem was the distance from the golf course and Mountain Home itself. We are a school group and we had to park a bus in the driveway and it was a little challenging. If I were going for a different reason and didn't have to drive a bus I would definitely choose this place again.

  • It’s ok..

    3/5

This house is big enough for a big family group, however it is dirty.. someone’s left over wine glasses were left on back porch, blankets smell weird, floors do not look clean or the bathrooms. The vibe you get from this house, feels like your staying over at someone’s house that is lived in daily…

    From the owner:

    "Hi Ericka,

I'm sorry to hear that you were unhappy with our home. I spoke with the cleaning team, and they admitted they forgot to check the deck for the wine glasses you mentioned. I wish you had reached out during your stay, as I would have immediately arranged for them to come and vacuum or assist with anything you needed. We recently purchased five new sets of sheets and have a total of 25 sets in rotation. I deeply regret that your experience was not up to our usual standards and thank you for taking the time to leave a review."

  • Friends get-away

    5/5

This was a time for us to get together and relax. That was accomplished by reading on the deck, watching the planes take off and land across the river, bird watching (we even had the pleasure of seeing a bald eagle 😊), playing board games and just being together. The house was clean and had more than enough room for everyone.

A few things that i would recommend are having wash cloths on hand, putting in a hand rail on the steps to the front door (those of us with bad knees had a little trouble climbing the steps without some support) and maybe consider updating the front door keypad as it wasn't as easy to use as it should have been, especially in the rain.

Overall we had a great time and would definitely come back. The view alone is worth it.

From the owner: "Hi Jodi, thank you so much for your kind review. We are glad to hear our home was able to accommodate your family. I’m so sorry to read that it was difficult getting up the steps to the entrance and we have since put in a handrail for support. We’ve also brought another 15 hand towels per your suggestion. I apologize for the inconvenience. We do hope you’ll consider coming back again."

  • Exactly what we wanted

    5/5

About a year before the April 8, 2024 eclipse we started searching for a house in the path of totality. The Scarlata Family Cabin fit our needs perfectly. There is a long deck with a beautiful view of the White River, suitable for star -gazing under clear skies, bird watching, seeing the planes land at Gaston’s resort and just relaxing. Bulls shoals is near-by with boating and hiking. The trout fishing is world class. The house has a very functional kitchen and is well-equipped. There is a comfortable central seating area and a dining room table that easily fits eight. The outdoor gas grill is located conveniently off the kitchen. The water is hot for showers and the beds are comfortable. The lower level is another spot to play games and watch TV. The laundry room is on the main floor. Upstairs there are 4 beds. The only drawback is no bathroom on that level. Otherwise it’s quiet and restful. We found the house clean and welcoming. Hence it was exactly what we wanted.
