• Wonder Getaway on the Lake

  We had a wonderful time at Gabbie’s Getaway. The home was adorable, very clean and well equipped kitchen. We had everything we needed to make a nice Thanksgiving dinner. Plenty of clean linens and towels! The furnishings were nice and couches were very comfortable. The doc area is very nice as well. Full disclosure on the treck down to dock was slightly steeper than expected but in no way a deterrent. I would just want to add that if you had physical disabilities or older it might be a little difficult. But there is a nice rock road that leads down to dock Area that is easily accessible from the house deck. Easy enough to walk down but slightly steep for the walk back. Again not a deterrent for us, because we had lots of fishing to do. Don’t miss out on this beautiful peaceful house, it was such a relaxing atmosphere. By the way if you have time visit downtown and the little shops, you won’t be disappointed. The owners were fantastic with communication as well!

• Wedowee home on Lake

  Everything inside the home was clean. We did notice a broken lamp shade and end table in the corner of the living room. Missing window shades and a lack of a toaster and wall decorations. The outside needs some yard and home/boat dock maintenance. Other than that our stay was good. Good location close to restaurants and town. Our purpose for the visit was to see some Fall color change and that did not disappoint.

  My grandson and I had an enjoyable stay over the past weekend. The cabin was clean and we had a good time fishing off of the dock.

• Very clean home interior

  The inside of this house was very, clean and had everything needed to be comfortable, even the shower water pressure was great! It was stocked and very comfortable and peaceful. The beds were comfortable and furniture was nice and clean.

  The outside needs some cleaning, I did feel like the deck and tables there could use at least a blower taken to them before guest arrive.

  I think it should be mentioned that the access to the lake dock is not easily accessible for someone with bad knees or health concerns. While I realize most lots there are very steep, most have stairs or a cleared path. This one had neither, the path was very rough, even the side drives were hard to navigate safely.

  I brought two young boys and they did perfectly fine getting to and from the lake, they have the benefit of youth. All I could think is if I fall, I can’t work so it was not worth the risk for myself to venture down often.

  I must also add that the dock on the lake is wonderful, very well made and had quite the view from the top. The boys enjoyed being able to kayak and fish right there in the cove as well as swim. Location was very convenient to restaurants and grocery store, we did find that even the Jacks there is pretty good and people were very nice wherever we went.
