We had a great 4 night stay. We wanted something more secluded and this was perfect. The condo is a short walk to the beach, and the balcony view of the ocean is beautiful. The condo itself has a lot of updates to it. I read previous reviews and one thing I must say is any issues previous guests mentioned had all been fixed or updated. There was a new washer, and a new dryer that was delivered while we were there. I loved being able to wash clothes while we were there! There was a new dish washer, a new sliding glass door, the TV in both the living room and bedroom worked fine. The central air worked great, as we stayed cool the entire time despite it being one of the hottest days of the summer. The beds were very comfortable, and there was a lot of linens and pillows if needed. The shower pressure was SO GOOD. The only issue (which a lot of the previous reviews have mentioned,) was the door lock. It's one of those ones you put a code in to. It worked fine when we got there, but after going to the pool and coming back up it wouldn't work. The owner got a locksmith out, but based on previous reviews the door locks they use have been an issue for years. The one that was on there was less than 30 days old! So it reflects poorly on the locks than the owner of the condo. Others on our floor were SO helpful. They owned their condo and had extra keys and codes to ours that they tried. They went out of their way to make us comfortable while we waited, even bringing us drinks and letting our girls play with their cute weenie dog. The locksmith came and changed the lock and it worked fine the rest of the time we were there. We all enjoyed our stay very much and I will definitely book with them again!
I loved the decor and it was a decent size since we were only there for three nights. The walk to the beach is only about 2-3 mins so it’s not bad. The only thing that kinda sucked was the renovation going on that started at 8 am every morning, people were literally hammering on the wall where my bed was so not the most peaceful thing to wake up to on vacation. When we first arrived to our room, it hadn’t been cleaned yet from the people there before us but we were honestly just glad to be there - others may not have been so passive. All in all it was a good stay, the water pressure in the shower is nice getting all the sand off! :)
Very comfortable environs, clean, neat, cool. Nice balcony, great breeze. A real long haul to the beach, especially having to carry chairs and such. The construction was fairly evident, especially the first day. The front door code did not work, and later the Dunes parking lot code did not work either. Those were the only glitches. The first one was disconcerting, as we did get in as we followed the cleaning crew, but had to wait to leave until we got the new code.
The check in process was horrible, our check in time was supposed to be 3pm and upon arrival the cleaning service had just arrived so we couldn't check in till 4:30. They don't mention in the ad that you have to purchase a $40 parking pass per vehicle or it's a $500 fine, upon speaking with the property attendant he said the home owner is to leave one pass in the room and you have to purchase any additional. Our room had none and the property owner would not return our calls or text all weekend. The dishes were filthy, the building has hurricane damage that's a year old, the view from the balcony is between 15-19 large oil rigs (none of this which is shown in advertisements) Also online it says the location is Gulf Shores, when it is actually Ft Morgan roughly 15 minutes from Gulf Shores in the middle of nowhere. Everything about this listing is false. Please save your money! Also there was a confusion in dates we were to stay in which ended up costing me a hotel fee last minute on a holiday weekend I wasn't expecting to pay and then one extra night that I wasn't able to stay at the property due to having to get back to work. In which the homeowner initially agreed to refund me the night I wasn't able to stay and VRBO also verified I would be getting refunded for the unused night. Then Evolve says they will only be refunding me the cleaning fee and taxes. So now I I am out of an extra $700 on top of all the issues with the property. I will not be using VRBO or Evolve in the future. If you're considering using them or staying at this property I suggest you think twice.
