  Our family was blessed to win this beautiful Black Hill weekend stay through Jon and Penny’s donation to Bel Air Elementary school. Their daughter was kind enough to think of this as the school’s grad prize during its “Family Fun Night”.

  Jon was extremely pleasant to work with establishing a weekend where we can visit. When we arrived, our family felt at home immediately and kids appreciative of the delicious cookies waiting for them. Spacious, warm, and secluded, this home sits right on the edge of the Black Hills; right outside of all the traffic, making the nights peaceful with limited to lights or noise.

  The amenities didn’t stop there, the hot tub warms the chilly nights, the garage filled with tools if needed, and the outhouse which limited unnecessary trips back to the house. Jon and Penny clearly put a lot of thought and care into building this house, and they decided to share their home with guests.

  Whether you’re visiting the Black Hills during Sturgis or a trip to Mount Rushmore, this is your home away from home.

  I have stayed at many short-term rentals while traveling and this is one of the best, if not the best places I have stayed. Before we left, John called to make sure our check-in would be smooth. When we arrived we were treated to a welcome basket with some gifts to help us enjoy our stay. Shortly after we arrived, John showed up and showed us around his incredible property and all the amenities. The house is incredible. It is fabulously decorated and there is everything you need for a comfortable stay. We cooked every dinner and the kitchen was well stocked.John checked in a couple of times to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and made sure we didn’t need anything. He also shared his wisdom about the surrounding area and many of the nearby attractions.John and Penny have created a remarkable place to stay and truly care for their guests. If you are in the Newcastle / Black Hills area, look no farther. You won’t be disappointed.Thanks for the great stay, we will be back again!

  This house had everything you could possibly think of. Kitchen fully stocked, towels, extremely clean and beautifully decorated. The owners put heart and soul into this house and you can tell immediately. Nine of us stayed here, five of them were teens and they never wanted to leave the house because of the entertaining game room. I would highly recommend this house and we would stay here again 10 more times! This house and the hosts made us feel warm and at home!

  They had a welcome gift when we arrived which was so nice we truly appreciated it. The place was beautiful home away from home, It was very clean, comfortable beds, our kids loved the game room, very nice bathrooms. I love that they made this place for everyone they had a wheelchair ramp and a bathroom for those who need it. They had plenty of kitchen utensils and more. I am one who appreciates decoration and it was truly done to perfection. We loved the views around the house and on the way there. The owner was very nice and knowledgeable about the questions we asked all around just a good guy! Highly recommend We can’t wait to go back!!
