This is a truly charming cabin, with its own history, in a lovely community. The community is nestled in among a natural environment, so the trees and plants contribute to the natural feeling. It's also on the Townsend side of the mountain, so there was almost no traffic. We were close enough to restaurants in Townsend, but the owner has provided excellent cookware, so we didn't have to eat out for every meal.
Now--keeping in mind that this lovely cabin was once two original rustic cabins, and that spring was reluctant to show up in the Smoky Mountains, there was only one area of the cabin that wasn't as warm as we'd have liked, and that was the sitting area that had been the front porch on one of the original cabins. It's enclosed, and it has a heater, and the windows all around made it our favorite place to relax, despite the chill. The rest of the house stayed very comfortably warm. The front living room was super nice, lots of comfy seating, but we love windows.
There is one caveat, and that is the stairs to the upstairs bedroom. Each stair is standard depth, but each lip extends maybe one to two inches over the one below it, making it feel more shallow, particularly going down. The staircase is well lit with motion-sensors and has its own light switch, but if someone in your party has difficulty with stairs, consider giving them the first-floor bedroom.
Overall, this was an excellent stay, but let me add an extra bonus for having great communication from the owners.

We absolutely loved the cabin & location. We thought everything was perfect and we can’t wait for the next time we can all get together so we can stay here again. I truly did not want to leave.

Really cool and unique property. Two rustic cabins merged together with a lot of nice modern amenities. Well stocked kitchen and a lot of nice amenities like coffee pods, local pumpkin butter and toiletries. Owner also came by at check in to blow off recently downed leaves and lives locally. Great location too - we live in Knoxville so more of a local getaway. Would definitely stay here again!

Loved our stay at Mountain Rose Cabin! It is in a beautiful location and stocked with everything you need for a quiet and cozy stay. From the moment we drove onto property and stepped inside the cabin was a wonderful experience. The smell of the wood burning fireplace instantly gives you that cabin feeling. The steam shower was definitely a pleasant surprise to have. The owners were very helpful and informative. Thanks so much for sharing your little peace of heaven with us! Will definitely book this property again!
