• Don't waste your money, this place is really bad

  DO NOT Rent this place, every motel in Montrose is better.

  IF I could have checked out after ONE night, got a refund I would have left.

  1. This is NOT a Victorian building, it’s a 1915 worn out building with new paint inside and cheap cabinets.

  2. It’s not Quiet, Comfortable, Charming or convenient

  3. The BUSIEST 4 lane road is next to this place, sleeping is a challenge and even a normal conversation in the living room is hard. (24/7 road noise – Tractor/Trailers and everything else)

  4. There are 17 EXTREMELY creaky stairs to get to the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms, watch your head going down them. (not fun carrying everything up/down these stairs)

  5. Living room has a cheap sectional sitting on the floor.

  6. They say not to use the only lamp(halogen) for to long because it gets hot.

  7. No thermostat for the heat, so IF it gets to warm turn on the noisy AC units.

  8. No dishwasher, they didn’t even provide dish soap or dish cleaning supplies.

  9. No exhaust fan in the bathroom, all the windows are painted or sealed shut

  10. Outlets marked do not use with electrical burn marks.

  11. Lamp in main bedroom didn’t work – it had a melted shade, obvious over wattage.

  12. Looks like there is a camera in the living room, no idea IF it was recording or not.

  WE are very upset and dissatisfied with this property, it definitely ruined our vacation.

  - The listing does state that this is a Victorian-era home with stairs, but we’re sorry if this caught you off guard.
  - We encourage guests to thoroughly review the listing before booking, to ensure they find the perfect vacation home for their needs.
  - The bathroom and kitchen are advertised as being upstairs and this is apparent in the listing photos. We have added safety tape where there is a low-hanging ceiling on the stairs to help them not bump their head.
  - We do include a map on our listing so that guests can see the approximate location of the home and the main roads before booking, but we apologize that this caught you by surprise.
  - We try our best to provide a great environment for guests, but sometimes external factors like the busy road are simply out of our control.
  - The home is located in the heart of Montrose, walking distance to downtown, where you can find shops and local dining.
  - We have sound-boarded the walls on the Townsend side of the property and added noise-canceling machines to make the best of where the home is located.
  - As is standard in the vacation rental industry, the homeowner provides a starter amount of essential supplies for guests.
  - Generic products may be offered at times to accommodate all guest comfort and preferences. We apologize if the products provided did not fit your needs.
  - As advertised in our listing, the property doesn't have a modern HVAC system and therefore we cool it with window A/C units.
  - We are also upgrading the bathroom to have an exhaust fan and the window in the bathroom is sealed to mitigate the noise from the street.
  - The camera you are referring to is not a camera, it’s a motion light for guests entering the living room from the main entrance.
  - However, we have removed the motion sensor to ensure other guests do not have the same misconception.
  - We apologize that our home did not meet your standards. We are continually trying to improve the property to make guests' experience in the Montrose area as enjoyable as possible.

  Darling house, close to Black Canyon, Ouray. Montrose is a cute area. Enjoyed everything.

  Great place to stay. Close to restaurants and major retail stores as well has short drives to Black Canyon and the San Juan Mountains.

  The property was very clean and homy. It was in a great location and all the stores and restaurants were right down the road. The beds were incredibly comfortable and slept great after all our adventures. Would recommend to anyone and definitely wouls stay there again.
