This was such a lovely place to stay. Beautiful character, charming and decorated tastefully, super clean, organized, plenty of storage and surprisingly spacious. As a family of 6, we could play games, spread out, do our own thing and we didn't feel crowded or on top of one another. The hosts were readily accessible, gave prompt attention to detail, were very kind and very helpful. We loved walking to the cute coffee shop in the mornings, a block away, and being able to walk to downtown for shopping and eating. Walmart was close and convenient to grab anything we forgot or needed during our stay. Plenty of street parking. We had 3 vehicles and a boat and we were never without a place to park. We would definitely stay again! The only thing I would suggest is bringing extra blankets for cozying up to watch a movie or wrapping up in the cooler evenings. We're a blanket family and we had wished we had brought some extras. Thank you again for making our time away feel like ‘home' away from home.

  • Charming bungalow

We loved our time here. Walked to breakfast most mornings and spent our day traveling to the other towns in Door County. Ellen was an amazing host. Very responsive and helpful. I wish the house had central AC as there was only one window unit for the entire downstairs and two bedrooms did not have window units. There is also no cable. Roku only. Overall, a nice, clean, functional home. We would stay here again.

  • This house is better than it's photos!!

We were 2 couples in our 50s. We loved the house and the location. There was plenty of stacked wood for the fire pit, and we used both grills! (One gas, one charcoal). Games and books were plentiful. The front porch was lovely for morning coffee and a cool breeze. If you plan to cook bring a sauce pan, skillet and stock pot. The kitchen has only one small sauce pan and a 10” skillet. We managed, but just. All in all it was a great place, easy walk to shopping and we LOVED the new Cherry Lane Arcade! Retro games, pinball, bowling, darts and a 1950's style bar!! Great beer and cocktails!

  • Great house for 2 couples!

Everything was great, better than the photos made it look. Very clean. Both king bedrooms are on the second floor, full bath is upstairs, 1/2 bath and single bedroom are on the first floor off of the kitchen. The house could definitely sleep 7, but the bathroom situation would get tight.

We used the firepit and both the gas and charcoal grills. The management had left a great deal of firewood, which was nice.

The only caveat I had was that there were not enough pots and pans to really cook. The kitchen had only one 10" skillet and one 2 quart saucepan. We made due, but if I were going back (which we probably will) I would bring a large pot and a larger skillet.

The location is great, easy walk to the "old downtown". Many people overlook Sturgeon Bay when they plan a trip to Door County, but I can tell you they are missing a charming town by doing so.
