Can't imagine a better place to stay in Damascus. This is some kind of old commercial building that has been divided up into residential rental units. Everything is recently remodeled/brand new, clean and great condition. Clear that thought has gone into the place and quality choices made. Walk to shops, restaurants, Creeper Trail. We stayed to drive into Bristol for the NASCAR race and it was an easy 40 minute drive back and forth on secondary roads avoiding traffic on I-81. Was here for the Yeti 100 last year and wish I'd known of this place then. Can't go wrong here. Will stay again next time in the area.

  • Great place to stay before riding the Virginia Creeper Trail

We had a last minute change of plans and had to find an alternative place to stay before riding the Virginia Creeper Trail. Found this charming renovation at a building we’ve passed many times in the years we’ve ridden the trail. The manager was quick to respond to any questions. Had a slight challenge getting in but quickly resolved. The room was clean and had a great kitchenette. The kids loved the loft! Wasn’t sure about how safe the bikes would be locked up outside overnight but everything worked out great. Would stay here again!

  • Great location, would stay again!

We hadn't been to Damascus in about 10+ years, but finally made some time to get up there and do (part of) the Creeper. Could not have picked a more convenient location in Damascus - Brinkwater is located on a corner across from the Dollar General, and you can see the Old Mill restaurant from the backdoor. No need for a car unless you want to head over to Abingdon. Very happy with the building/unit itself - I liked the decor and the sealed concrete floors throughout made it easy to roll our bikes in/out of our room (there are bike hooks outside the back door, but we prefer to keep our bikes secured). a/c worked fine, shower was great, bed was comfortable. The only thing I'll point out was that there was a skylight in the room, and I didn't see a way to block/cover it. Definitely not an issue for us, but if you're planning to sleep until noon, just something to be aware of. I wish the parking situation was a little more clear - until we got inside the room and checked out the manual, we didn't know where it was okay to park. Since we were there in the middle of the week (which I recommend if you're doing the Creeper, by the way - we only saw about 10 other people between White Top and Damascus, which would never be the case on a weekend!) the parking wasn't an issue anyway. Great communication/resolution with the management on the minor issue we discovered in the lobby, too. We would absolutely stay here again.

  • Perfect!

We stayed 2 nights and loved the location and accommodations. The beds were very comfortable and the full kitchen was great for our family of 5. We would stay here again!
