Our upstairs apartment was as I expected for a house on the beach built in the 1940s. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with all we needed for a long weekend. There was a layer of dust on the furniture in the common area. I picked a book off a lower shelf that was very dirty. We were lucky to have perfect weather to enjoy the great porch. If the temperature had been cooler, I think we would have missed heat at night. The ground area at the beach steps would look a lot better if it were rid of the “junk”.Overall, a nice experience. The convenience of being beachside is priceless.

My husband and I stayed here four nights. As others have said, this is an old school beach house and we were prepared for that. The location is wonderful and the sunrises from the porch were unparalleled, and the quirks of this house (older homes that haven’t been remodeled have a lot of them) did not deter us from enjoying our morning walks on the beach or listening to the sound of the waves each night. You’re not going to rent here if you’re looking for an updated home. Do be aware that the house does *not* have heat; I could find no mention of that in the listing and it REALLY should have been. When we arrived the first night it was 45 degrees outside and nearly that inside (these old beach houses don't have much insulation). The space heater we found in a closet did not help overmuch that first night though it did warm up some as the days went on. Besides that, the house was pretty much what we expected, and we would stay there again but be better prepared.

Had a few problems at check in. Mix up and someone was in our rental. Stayed in downstairs for a couple of days then moved upstairs. Kitty gave us a refund on the two nights. The area is beautiful and beach is amazing. We loved our place and had a wonderful time.

Built in 1940. This cottage has lots of charm. Lovely beach decorations. Great veiw of the ocean. We spent all our time on the covered deck. Nice location. Very short drive to restaurants and Food Lion. We loved it.
