We stayed at the Blue Gem house with 3 kids aged 7-10 and absolutely loved it. The house is practically brand-new inside which is a rare find in Pocono. Kids loved their "personal" playground while adults enjoyed dinners on the back patio. The owner was very responsive and made sure we felt well-taken care of. The location of the Blue Gem home is very unique, just a minute walk to the public side of Dresser lake, which felt very private with no people around except occasional dog walkers. The kids ran around a vast open space, played with balls, and sent toy boats into the calm water.
While the house comes with a kayak and an inflatable boat, we opted to explore Tobyhanna state park, which is 10 mins drive away. The park is a great place to have a picnic, take a hike around the lake and rent a bigger boat.
We plan to be back during the winter season for skiing and to check out the waterpark at Kalahari.
