Plenty of room for 10 people. Close to many attractions. House was clean and had everything we needed. Host Elam was very accessible when we had a question. Will book this property again in the future.

  • Nice location

This property has some good points. Location, nice front porch, pool and large bedrooms. However, it really needs some updating and care.

Hi Jill, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. After reading your feedback, the homeowner wanted to share the following:
We're glad to hear you enjoyed the property overall! We do plan to make some renovations this fall or winter. Thanks for sharing your feedback.

  • A family favorite!

This was our 5th stay at this property. The pool is the main reason we book this place. When we got there the pool was disgustingly green!!! The owner did everything he could to get it cleaned for us but our children missed 2 days of swimming. We do appreciate his efforts and are thankful they didn't miss out on swimming completely!

  • Disappointing

First of all, I would like to commend the responsiveness and kindness of the owner of this home. He allowed an early check-in for my elderly mother who had ended up traveling all night after her original flight always canceled. I appreciate that beyond measure!

From the outside, the house is as described. It really is charming and the large deck in the front and patio area in the back are both very welcoming. The problems start once you enter the house. It’s obvious that the house needs some upgrades and general maintenance and upkeep is lacking.

The post clearly states that this is a one story house which to me means most everything is on one level. That is not the case at all. All of the bedrooms are up a very steep staircase and it was indeed a challenge moving an elderly, handicapped woman up and down the stairs several times a day. The house also states that there are king-size beds in the bedrooms; however, there is only a single king size bed. The others were all queen.

None of the bathrooms have a towel bar for hanging towels after a shower. The bathroom at the top of the stairs has a leak in the roof and during the rain storm, rain was pouring in. The bathroom on the first floor is in desperate need of upgrade and repair. There is a mold problem in there, the smell of urine is extremely strong, the linoleum floor is pulling up because of water damage, and the wallpaper is peeling.

My estimate is that 90% of the dishes in the kitchen are chipped and or cracked. The coffee mugs are all chipped and the drinking glasses contain cracks and chips in a number of them. There are no bowls to speak of and absolutely no knives (outside of butter knives) so if you have any plans to prepare a meal for your family, you need to do it without having the ability to chop or dice anything.

There were boxes of someone’s leftover rice/grains and cereals in the cabinets that had bugs. They were immediately discarded outside and the cabinets were wiped out.

There were no paper towels and no additional rolls of toilet tissue. We purchased an eight pack and left it there for the next guest so they would not be surprised when they couldn’t find any.

It is a welcome feature to go into a place like this and have a washer and dryer accessible; however, the lint trap in the dryer had likely not been cleaned out for months. There was a huge wad of lint in there that not only makes the dryer take a lot longer to dry clothes but it is an incredible fire hazard as well.

While there were plenty of towels in the house, the majority of them were ripped and/or stained. The bedding (sheets) are also very old and the bathroom rugs were very dirty. Rather than use them, we put down towels.

The back deck made for a nice place to relax but you need to make sure that you have citronella candles and you light them a good 20 minutes before you want to go outside because the mosquitoes will eat you alive. Certainly not an issue for the home owner but a warning to others to prepare in advance.

This house has incredible potential but definitely needs work. The pictures in the post should be updated to reflect the true picture.

I have pictures/video of the items above to document my statements that I would be happy to share.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Coleen, we're glad you enjoyed certain aspects of this property but sorry that your stay fell short in other areas. We followed up with the homeowner, who was surprised by some of your comments. They assured us that the roof was not leaking, nor was any mold found in the home. The owner also let us know that all concerns have been addressed since seeing your review. We are confident that future guests will find this home clean and comfortable!

  • Excellent

A lot of space in the house. The area clean and quiet neighborhood. Was disappointed because the pool area wasn't clean. In all we had a nice time. and would recommend this house to any body.
