  • Great location, beautiful views, like-new interior

This freshly renovated lake house was just right for our Catskills getaway. The view out the expansive windows is stunning, the hot tub was perfect for unwinding, and the canoe was ideal for cocktail-hour paddling.

The interior is clean and modern, and it only gets better once you step outside--and down the road. It's an easy 15-minute walk into Narrowsburg and its foodie-friendly eateries (we love The Launderette for pizza and river views, The Heron for brunch, and Tusten Cup for coffee and breakfast). If you're a walker, you'll be glad to know you're also within 15 minutes or so of the Pete's supermarket and the Fort Delaware outdoor museum.)

Further afield, we loved tubing the Delaware. (Go to Lou's Tubes for inexpensive $6-a-day rentals and then ride the "rapids.")

All in all, you couldn't ask for a better basecamp for your upstate explorations.
