Overall, we enjoyed the space very much. There are some very nice touches, like the soaking tub in the primary bedroom. The view is stunning in the morning and late afternoon. Owner and managing agent were very responsive!
When we arrived at the property Friday evening, the touch screen lock was black. When I touched the screen nothing happened, so i was unable to enter with the key code provided. handle and was able to get into the Airbnb (it was left open.) I immediately contacted the owner to let her know we were inside without using the access code and that doors were left open. When I inspected the place further, I noticed open windows and the back doors were unlocked as well. This was a major safety concern for myself and the other women who came to enjoy a stress free bachelorette weekend.
She did not seem too concerned about this, and sent me Tonya’s number to contact about my concerns. I called Tonya and let her know the issue—and she said not to worry because we were in a “safe area.” While I appreciated her attempts to ease our worries, I wanted the lock to be resolved regardless because we didn’t feel comfortable leaving our things with the door unlocked since we had a weekend planned to explore the area. She let me know she would come early morning after breakfast around 10am to fix the lock. Saturday morning, we woke up to make breakfast when we realized the fridge was not working so all of our food had spoiled—it was room temp (eggs, bacon, cheese, charcuterie items, fruits, left overs, etc). Tonya did not show up to the property until after I contacted evolve at 7:45pm to voice my concerns. I am very displeased with the way this is being handled. We had to spend extra money to eat out because our food spoiled. Over the phone, Tonya explained that the owner would get maintenance to come check the fridge because it was in fact broken. We were out of the Airbnb at this time and hoped that when we got back, the issues would be fixed. To my surprise, Tonya did not show up and neither did the maintenance person who was supposedly going over. I immediately contacted Tonya to ask what happened and she said she was sorry, that she was at a birthday party all day and wasn’t able to come to the Airbnb. I said I understood but was frustrated with the way things were being handled. When I explained my frustration she seemed to understand and said she would be contacting the owner to fix the issues, and that I should contact Evolve to get reimbursement. After i called Evolve to intervene, Tonya reached out fix the lock THE NIGHT BEFORE check out. It’s all just horrible customer service. I hope this is remedied soon.
