The house was cute. Unfortunately, we had a rodent issue. The house was cold, not efficiently heated and certainly not clean. There were cobwebs everywhere, dead bugs in the corners and along sides of walls and a lot of dust, mold on bathroom ceiling near skylight. We expected the house to be sufficiently heated, cleaned and not having to hunt down and kill mice while we were on our vacation. The management company was very nice and the guest contact was quick to reply to what we were experiencing. However, if a property is rented out, it should reach some basic requirements as listed above. I hope the owners of this property can do some sufficient and thorough maintenance before another guest family checks in, as we had a disappointing experience.
We frequently visit Taos and this would have been a good property to come back to. With the experience we had, we probably won’t stay here again.
Hello Kelly, thank you for taking the time to leave your review. The homeowner has asked us to pass along the following message:
-We want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us and find our property to be 100% guest ready, upon arrival, and we do apologize for the impact these concerns had on your vacation experience. We sincerely appreciate the feedback on the unit. We have made significant changes to address these issues, including a new cleaning service to ensure every cleaning meets our standards before the next guest checks in. In addition, we have hired a new pest control company to ensure that the unit is pest and rodent free. They have also sealed up all of the areas they found that mice might be able to make their way into the home. Additionally, our new cleaners have guaranteed that food scraps and crumbs that previously would have been attracting them will be a non-issue going forward. We were glad that we were able to address the heating issue, immediately and can confirm that the system is in perfect working condition and the home is quite comfortable. We truly appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve the experience for future guests! Thank you
The house location is very close to Taos Plaza. The house is a traditional adobe, with old world charm. in a neighborhood. with other homes vey close. Pleasant. No views or patio to sit outside.
