This was our 4th year visiting this home in Maggie! Every year, new memories are made, our kids NEVER get bored and every year Judy and Dave have added something new! We love this place and look forward to staying next Thanksgiving!!

  • Cozy, peaceful, and comfortable

Our experience was great. We enjoy the outdoor space, the view of the mountains, the coziness of the cabin and the proximity to the GSMNP. The cabin is a vacation home away from home. We love coming here.

We felt like we were in a giant tree house in the sky! The views are beautiful and the breezes whispering through the trees are soothing to the soul. This is a special place appointed comfortably and tastefully. I was discovering thoughtful conveniences up to the day we left like cabinets I hadn't explored filled with games and cards. All the firewood you need is there and ready. Simply a lovely place and we will most certainly return. The wifi isn't sufficient for streaming but with a little patience you can do routine internet browsing to plan your next days activities. The DVD player is just the ticket to keep cranky four year olds content watching the movies we brought and others thoughtfully provided on site.If you come for an extended stay while planning to cook for a group or you're foodies I suggest bringing your favorite skillet, pot or knife. I always favor gas ranges and was very pleased the cooktop is gas. The kitchen supplies are just fine and all the typical gadgets were on hand, but if you're an avid home chef staying for awhile you'll be glad for your favs. Yes the drive up will get your heart racing but come prepared and take it steady. For us it was part of the adventure and we loved every second of our stay. Our last full day we were blessed with a visit from a radio-collared cow elk. She was beautiful, graceful and not nearly as impressed by us as we were of her! Our grandkids watched in amazement, as she hung around for more than an hour leisurely clopping around the cabin munching on the sweet fine grasses and flowers on the grounds. We've been visiting Maggie Valley and surrounding areas for 30 years and it has a very special place in our families heart. Already we're talking about how soon we can return!

Absolutely wonderful, The cabin is isolated (something we were looking for) only negative would be the drive up to it, definitely need a SUV or truck, we knew that ahead of timeThe cabin was just as the pictures showed, zero complaintsWe will definitely be back

  • Just what we needed amid Covid chaos.

Just book it now!! This beautiful & peaceful retreat was just what our bodies, minds & souls needed after this past year & a half of Covid chaos. I honestly cannot think of a need or want that was not met at this amazing cabin. Lots of great local places to eat, our son loved Fantasy mini golf ($8 for unlimited rounds all day), tons of hikes to waterfalls, wildlife (I was sad that we didn't get to see a bear, but sooo many elk, deer, wild turkeys & birds). Definitely recommend driving the Dragons Tail & Blue Ridge Parkway Drive. Loved starting our days with hot cocoa on the porch watching the fog roll out & ending them with s'mores around the fire pit watching the stars light up the night sky. We will definitely be coming back!!
