• Lovely Stay at Sand Pebbles!

  Our family of 3 stayed for a week and had a fantastic time. We loved the relaxed ocean decor throughout the cottage. Since we went swimming every day, it was so convenient to be steps from the beach. Our beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with all the essentials we needed for our stay. The record player and classic vinyl collection was fun; we played great music all week. We loved the living and sitting areas for all the places to play a board game, read a novel, watch a movie or just curl up with a cup of tea. We appreciated all the thoughtful details such as beach chairs and toys, toiletries, tea/coffee supplies, laundry on site and extra blankets in each bedroom. There was lots to do and see close by with restaurants and shopping right around the corner. Highly recommended!!

  The location of this rental is fabulous! You really can’t beat it. 2 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk to food lion!

  We stayed for two weeks and we enjoyed ourselves. However, there are a few things to note. Upon check in the rental had not been cleaned. I called Evolve and they handled it immediately. I think they were just running behind. They also gave me a small credit for the inconvenience.

  The reason for 4 stars vs 5 is I’m not sure this rental is worthy of the price. The price is high and you don’t have control of the temperature inside the home. We would wake up sweating and the thermostat would read 77 degrees overnight. It was brutal . Also the silverware drawer falls out every time you open it and knives go everywhere. It’s a heavy drawer and unless you open it just right it comes out. The beds are some of the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. We tried both mattresses and both were rough. We woke up feeling like we were 85. Lastly we were staying 2 weeks and were given 1 roll of toilet paper and 2 small garbage bags. I think they may have forgotten how long we were staying. I could have called about this but decided not to.

  But it’s not all bad! As I said location is fabulous. The decor is cute. The laundry was great to have! Wi-Fi worked great. We loved the record player and the selection of records. It truly does have everything you need for a quick getaway.

The AC temperature is controllable by guests within a preset range. This preset range is to prevent guests from setting a temperature that causes the unit to freeze up. We wish you would have brought your concerns with the temperate to our attention so we could have addressed them. Unfortunately, we are unable to take action after the fact. The average daily night during your stay including taxes and cleaning fees was $219, this is less than a single hotel room this close to the beach in OBX. Everyone's budget is different; however, we pride ourselves on providing affordable pet-friendly lodging. Thank you for informing us of the issue with the silverware drawer, so are the first guest to report this to us but we will get someone out to take a look at better securing it. This is the first complaint we have received about the mattress; we will check them during our next inspection to see if they require replacement."

  House is everything the advertisement says. Comfortable beds, plenty of space and vintage beach decor. Close to everything.

  What a great place. So close to the beach. Loved hearing the waves while sitting outside in evening. The property was so clean and super cute. The bathroom was very tight, but manageable. Definitely will be back.
