Was a lovely house. Enjoyed my stay. The home owners is really nice.
My wife and I enjoyed this wonderful water-front house for a week and we were not disappointed. Its a charming home, that is made to make you feel comfortable. It starts with a drive thru the soy bean field....Yes, the "street" that Maps provided is thru the field...it was cool to buzz thru the land towards the house. (there is another street to take). Once there, the property is well taken care of and there is plenty of room to feel like you're alone...though you do have a couple of neighbors that we did not see all week.
Good size kitchen with all of the items needed for cooking, serving and cleaning are provided. Open space for the dining room into the living room where a very comfortable couch and chair waits. Then you see the view! Beautiful water view!! We spent a good amount of time in the attached 3-season room where you also had furniture and a table should you want to eat out there. Enjoy the all of the nature that is in that area!
The bedrooms were comfortable but only had one Queen that was on the main level. Upstairs bedrooms were nice. We used downstairs bathroom for showers because it had more room...but there is a shower upstairs. Washer/dryer....large garage...nice space for clothes. Small distance to food/liquor (no booze sales in stores on Sundays).
We loved it here for the peacefulness of the area and no distractions (neighbors, Others) Beaches are 45-60 minutes away and we visited a different one each day. Check out Virginia Beach too (45 mins.) The owners are very nice and helpful if anything needs to be addressed. This isn't a modern house but you have everything you need. If you want some time away...this is it!
The location was beautiful. At the edge of a farm, directly on the Sound. The home was perfect for a small group. Well-stocked, with no issues at all. The weather was very hot and humid, and yet the air conditioning system worked well in the house. Also, the glassed-in porch (where we spent most of our time enjoying the view) has a separate HVAC system that worked very well, despite the heat and solar effect from the sun. A new coffee/bar cafe nearby was fun to visit; other places to dine are within 15 minutes for those who prefer not to cook.
We will definitely be back!
We loved it and will return ..But do not eat at bjs!

We have never stayed in Currituck nor the Outer Banks, so we didn't know what to expect. Based on the photos, we were expecting a bright, more up-to-date home with more modern touches. The home has more of a country vibe, is a little dated and has a bit of that older home musty smell. I went back and looked at the photos to compare and the photos look like they have a filter on to capture less detail and add more light. On the pros side, we loved the large sunroom and that wonderful view of Currituck sound with the resident geese, birds and nature. It was also very peaceful. My husband enjoyed fishing in the backyard and even caught a few bass. If you don't mind older homes with a country feel, you may enjoy this one.
