  The house was as described. The owners are over the top picky and petty. We did not have a party, and we’re upset by minor smudges and scratches on a door frame and switch. We were cleaning up and the barged in at 11 as we were still getting the last of our items out questioning us about everything. Its winter in Indiana, the ground is super soft and muddy, they were upset about some tire tracks made, we didn’t even park in that area, I don’t even know how those got there but it wasn’t us. These owners were mad right off the bat and got super petty about the smallest things. There wasn’t a party and nothing was destroyed. I wouldn’t stay here if you want to enjoy yourself at all. We even mopped and they were upset we used the mop. Kinda no pleasing them. They say I(the one who rented the house) wasn’t there, but I was. They should not rent this house if they can’t handle even small scratches and smudges

  Hi Amanda, we always appreciate honest and constructive feedback, but after talking with the homeowner, we'd like to clarify the following points:
  - We want all of our guests to find the perfect vacation rental for their needs, so we make sure that travelers know before they book that large events are not permitted at this property. Unfortunately, multiple house rules were broken during your stay, including the maximum occupancy limit and the ban on parties. We arrived ten minutes after checkout time and noticed that there were still balloons hanging from the chandelier, along with several indicators that indicate a party had taken place
  - We provide cleaning supplies, like mops, so you can use them during your stay, so please know that we weren't upset that you were cleaning up after yourselves. Our concern was that the mop was saturated with beer, which again, alludes to the party that took place
  - We have had 48 bookings and can count on one hand how many scratches/damages we have. It is a brand-new build and we'd love to keep it in great condition for future guests to enjoy. This level of care and attention creates a pleasant experience for many guests and this is our first and only review that gave less than a 5-star rating
  - While we want our guests to enjoy their stay here, we also need them to respect our house rules and treat the property as their own. Thanks for your review!

• Home away from home

  What a great first experience with VRBO. The property was clean and super cute. Owner was very responsive and kind. Obviously well cared for property! I was a little taken aback by the extra fees VRBO charges and probably wouldn’t use the platform again.

  Remington House is an excellent place to stay. There was plenty of room for our family of four. With young children I was especially appreciative of the room darkening/blackout shades in the bedrooms! The host was excellent, too, and made some great recommendations for things to do while we were there. It was perfect for our extended stay over the holidays.

• A lovely stay!

  The Remington house was lovely. It was spotless and full of thoughtful details, with a sense of welcome and care throughout. The home was a 5-7 min drive to everything downtown. Candace was the best host host, and so kind throughout our communication.
