• Good location, but could use some work

  The location was 20 minutes away from all the nice places which was great. Plenty to do in the area. One of the issues we had was the master bedroom was 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the house. Made it impossible to sleep in. The master bedroom bathroom doesn't give much privacy due to the barn doors not closing fully. The kitchen was nice and the rest of the inside. The couch fits comfortably 4 people. The main issue was the pool looked nice in the pictures but was vastly different in person. There's dirt everywhere and it was very outdated. The pool filter didn't work at all so the water was stale, we had to get the pool company to come and vacuum because of how dirty it was, the screens were broken which is what brings all the dirt into the pool. There were spider webs all over the place making it feel unmaintained. Would've been nice to have a pool float to relax in. Lastly, there were a couple cockroaches (palmetto bugs) which made their way in.

• Hot hot hot

  It was extremely easy to access the home and the point of contact was very responsive. The home was set up just as expected. Plenty of toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels etc. The beds and pillows themselves were very comfy also. These are the positives. The home was clean for the most part but there was an abundance of items that prevents us from recommending this home. I hope by saying this, they will correct them because the home can be a great rental and provide a lot of comfort. Here is the list that our group was not happy with: -There was dust on the blinds and fans. One of the bedrooms, with the bunk beds, didn’t have an overhead fan at all (missing the blades). -Each room can benefit from a floor fan due to the stuffiness when doors are closed -The pool area screens were filled with spider webs, which we attempted to clean off but some we couldn’t reach. Which was not fun to have them at work during our swim time….-Master bathroom barn doors don’t meet up, no way to lock and one handle is missing, so privacy was severely lacking. -No fans in either bathroom, would be nice for ventilation -Both toilets run and need the guys replaced for leaking seal-The ac needs to be turned down at least a day before guests at house. When we arrived it was 83!-Sheets are hot, and have smalls balls all over them. The beds need mattress pads, only some do. - lack of wash cloths-Master bedroom is at least 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the house.

• Beautiful Home!

  The home was very beautiful and we loved using the pool. The location was near many beaches and sites that we wanted to explore. It was nice that the owners provided beach towels, folding chairs, umbrella, and a cooler for use. For a group like ours traveling from out of state, these were bulky things that you wouldn’t want to pack along on an airplane.

  Pros:

  -Beautiful home

  -Great location

  -Communication with the host was okay. Could be better.

  Cons:

  These are the reasons why our group couldn’t give it 5 stars.

  -Cockroaches (we killed around 5 while staying there)

  -One of our group members were showering when a small little snake-looking thing crawled out of the shower drain (my mom, who was the bravest of the group, had to come get rid of it)

  -The air conditioning kept shutting off every time we left the house to go explore. When we came back, the house was like a sauna. After it happened 2 times, we contacted the host who then contacted the owner. I guess it was set to eco mode and was possibly triggered by a power outage? There was no power outage as the microwave and stove looked normal.

  -We were provided 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom (2 bathrooms) and 1 roll of paper towels. We ran out and I contacted the host who told us that we are only given a starter pack and after that we’re on our own. Never had an experience like this at any AirBnB or VRBO places I’ve ever stayed at. Seems kind of stingy but oh well.

  -Upon arrival, there were lots of trash bags on the driveway, assuming it was from a precious group, but that didn’t look very appealing.

  -Broken wooden cutting board.

  -The marble flooring all over the house is beautiful but beware of water spills on the floor. It is very slippery. My 69-year-old mom almost had a very bad slip. Thank goodness a chair was nearby for her to grab onto.

  -Random workers came by to cut the grass and clean the pool on different days and times while we were at the home. It was kind of weird. A heads up would be nice.

  Other than that, we had a pleasant trip and time in Florida.
