4th of July getaway
4/5 We really enjoyed our stay overall—the house is close to town with peaceful views of the lake, and it's a great place to unwind. The inside of the house was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
However, there are a couple of things future guests should be aware of. The water near the house is very shallow. Also, there was a noticeable smell inside the house, which didn’t go away during our stay—it wasn’t a dealbreaker, but definitely noticeable.

- This lake is a shallower fishing lake, and while it’s naturally shallow near the seawall, the dock and boat house extend 190 feet into deeper water.
- Local officials actively monitor and adjust the lake’s water levels as needed, and the area is regularly enjoyed by those fishing.
- Regarding the odor you noticed, our cleaning partner did not detect anything during the cleaning, but we’ve sent them back out to double-check to ensure it’s fully addressed for future guests.
