Great stay very relaxing. We fished on site in the Little Schuylkill river , went to the Kielbasa festival in Shenandoah and had dinners in Tamaqua. The property is fantastic we hike a few miles down the river. Carolee the owner was very nice and accommodating. We will be back!

  • Nice little place to stay

    4/5

The house was as described in size, amenities, and location. The front door was beautiful and left in lots of light. The caretaker Carolee stopped by and was very helpful in making recommendations for restaurants and local attractions. She also came in and lit the pilot light for the gas fireplace, which we so appreciated! The lanterns on the bridge at night are very pretty, and there are places on the property to take walks/hikes. The snacks and teas provided and the dispenser in the shower for body wash, shampoo, & conditioner were a very nice touch. My wife liked the horsehead bookends and the Horseopoly game (which we didn't know existed). The only downfall was that it is close to a noisy highway which we hadn't realized from the booking, and then on Sunday a four-wheeler on the property startled me awake when napping and was making a lot of noise. Would recommend to others as long as they aren't looking for peace and quiet.

  • Not as quiet as we had expected

    4/5

It was a nice little place to stay while we celebrated our anniversary. The decorations were very tasteful, and my wife really liked the horse head bookends and Horse-opoly game (though we didn't play it). Carolee and her husband very helpful, checking in on us and making recommendations for hiking, restaurants, and attractions. And Carolee came in and lit the pilot light on the gas fireplace for us since it was still chilly out. That was so awesome! The front door was beautiful and left in natural light, and the dispenser in the shower for body wash, shampoo, and conditioner was great. We liked the carpet on the bedroom floor. The lanterns lighting the bridge at night were very pretty, and the tea bags and snacks provided were a very nice touch. We knew there was a railroad close to the house but we didn't realize there was a highway on the other side of it. We wished it would've been quieter and more secluded. And we were disappointed that the four wheeler running around the property startled us awake when napping on Sunday.

  • Very homey. . .

    5/5

What a little gem in the Pocono's. The location was central for our outings. The home was well supplied and very clean. It sits on a beautiful piece of property, able to do some exploring. Even saw a family of deer a few times. There is a gate that is locked at night adding some security. A yoga class was available one evening. A nice touch! Owner was available to answer any questions promptly. We would highly recommend and would return.

Had a fantastic stay at Butchie's Bungalow. Owners were great and so much to do in the area.
