the house was great and the location is wonderful but it was much more expensive than i thought because of all the taxes, cleaning and the most frustrating thins was the addition of payment for evolve...
Arrived Saturday. Julia (property manager) came shortly thereafter and explained there is a leak in the ceiling of the laundry room coming from the shower upstairs. She felt it was due to someone not shutting the curtain tight. (was not the case) We also told her the main floor toilet was not working. We rented this place because it had 3 bathrooms and one being on the main floor. My husband recently had knee surgery and I have back issues so it was really important for us to have a working toilet on the first floor. We slept on the first floor on the pull out couch. Wow, I am so amazed that that is even still there. That couch needs to go into the dump. Talk about springs stabbing. There was also a wooden horse set out in that same room with a wooden handle missing. Where the handle should've been was a very sharp screw pointy side out. My husband didn't realize it and stabbed his finger but good, drawing a lot of blood. At least it was him and not my 2 year old grandson. We were technically down a bathroom and a half because when someone took a shower in the bath upstairs, the water poured onto the ceiling in the laundry room even though the curtain was tightly closed. We put a bucket there and left a note for the "contractor" who was supposed to show up Sunday. When we returned from our outing that day, there were signs that someone had been there checking on the issues but nothing was fixed. I texted Julia and she said he apparently needed parts. He finally showed up on Monday afternoon to fix the issues. He was nice enough to leave a dripping wet towel on the bathroom floor. Broken valve upstairs bath and broken valve and flapper downstairs toilet.
Friday at 1:30 in the a.m. the smoke alarm went off twice. We found no evidence of smoke or anything.
The weeds are taking over the stairway to the upper deck and don't use the hairdryer provided. It smokes. I left the house in better condition than when we arrived. Much cleaner (Primary shower was thick with black mold on the bottom runner of the door and shower head), floors washed,
and the horse has been put in the closet.
Very nice house with good location to walk into town.
