Sorry for the delay in writing review I've been super busy since my return back to the my world. But that being said I the bday girl had an awesome. The house was actually as described. Access to the unit was simple and super to easy to remember and give out to my group so when we did decide to do other things they could enter with no problems. All of the beds were very comfortable, not sure if the jacuzzi tub was working. due to the rain i didnt get a chance to enjoy the whirlpool outside of the unit but maybe next time.
Everything like restaurants and events was also close and not to mention the beach and beach access points that i wanted to do a tourist thing of taking a pic of my bday age.
so thank you for a fabulous time
I'd like to start off this review by saying we had an enjoyable time staying at this home. The interior design of the home really conveys the beach theme beautifully. The proximity to the beach is excellent. The pool was excellent.
With that being said, there were two major disappointments that prevent me from being able to rate this home 5 stars.
Immediately upon our arrival into the home, we quickly realized that the bedding was never washed - not in the downstairs studio nor the second and third floor beds. The bedding smelled of men's cologne and women's perfume in different parts of the bedding.
On day one of check-in we spent several hours having to rewash all of the bedding, which wasn't very reminiscent of a vacation experience. It was actually a pretty gross experience honestly. The pillowtop on the downstairs bed smelled like urine, which made sense because there were several yellow stains on the pillowtop.
On day two, we saw the ROACHES.
As someone who works very hard to be able to afford these annual vacations, it was upsetting, disappointing, and extremely DISGUSTING. There were roaches in the downstairs studio and on the second floor.
My recommendation is to communicate with the clean up crew about the necessity of washing the bedding regardless of whether the bed looks like it was slept in or not. The checkout instructions said to NOT make the bed so the cleaning crew knows to wash the bedding. If I would not have read that information, I would have made the bed up as I usually do before check-out and then the next group of vacationers would have also slept in a dirty bed.
Regardless of whether the bed is made or not, the cleaning crew should wash ALL bedding.
My final recommendation is to hire some exterminators to go in there and kill the roaches. It was extremely disgusting to have roaches in the cabinets, in the silverware drawer, in the dishwasher - they were everywhere. We do not have roaches in our personal home so to go on vacation and have to share my vacation experience with roaches definitely took away from the vacation experience.
We would be more than happy to return to this beach house next year if these critical issues are addressed and resolved.
Hi Fisher, we're glad you enjoyed the location and the pool, although we're sorry to hear certain aspects of your stay fell short of your expectations. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- The owners always wash and bleach the bedsheets after each guest's stay.
- The comforters and out covers are washed on an as-needed basis for stains or smells. All exterior bedding is Febrezed at each clean to help freshen them up when a wash is not warranted.
- The owners have a quarterly exterminator service that had just serviced the unit the week before your arrival. However, Florida does get a lot of palmetto bugs, which resemble roaches and one will occasionally make its way indoors.
- We wish you would have reached out to the owners during your stay. They would have been more than happy to help with any issues while you were in residence to make your stay most comfortable.
Thanks for letting us know about your stay and for leaving a great note in our guestbook at the townhouse!
I booked this property in November of 19 and was a little nervous to travel to Florida during the pandemic. We had two families staying here (a total of 10 people) Panama City Beach was extremely busy but this condo was our own private oasis. The pool was great for us and the beach across the street was much less crowded than others. the grocery was nearby and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook for the week. I would highly reccomend!
